The practice of T’ai Chi Chuan generates qi (pronounced ‘chee’), often felt as heat in the body.  Qi is the Chinese word for ‘life force’ or‘vital energy’, our true source of strength. It makes you WARM, with a relaxation that comes with being fully present in your body.  When doing T’ai Chi, the joints open, the qi flows, the emotions are soothed, the mind empties.  Hence, a great CALM. And, in T’ai Chi the gathering of strength is real, bringing an active physical experience of being centered and connected to the earth. One’s awareness is relaxed, and at the same time COLLECTED.
